Details Regarding 2023 Tax Forms
For members who receive monthly paper statements, you will receive your paper tax form(s) in the mail by postmarked by January 31st. For those enrolled in eStatements you will not be mailed paper copies of your tax form(s). All members can access electronic forms before January 31st online via e-branch (please note, these forms will not be accessible through the NHFCU Mobile App).
1099-INT tax form
You’ll receive a 1099-INT tax form if you’re the primary account holder and were paid a combined total of $10 or more in interest for all your deposit accounts, including closed accounts, during the relevant tax year. You will also receive a 1099-INT if your deposit accounts had any backup withholding, or if you took an early withdrawal from a CD before the maturity date.
1098 tax form
You’ll receive a 1098 tax form if you are the primary account holder on a Mortgage or Home Equity loan during the relevant tax year.
1099-R tax form
You’ll receive a 1099-R tax form if you took a distribution of $10 or more from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Savings or IRA CD, or your retirement account was escheated to the state, during the relevant tax year.
5498 tax form
You’ll receive a 5498 tax form if you made a contribution, conversion, recharacterization or rollover for an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Savings or IRA CD during the relevant tax year. You’ll also receive a 5498 form if you made a contribution between January 1st and the tax filing deadline established by the IRS for the applicable tax year (usually April 15th).
