NHFCU held our 79th Annual Meeting virtually on March 24, 2021. Polly Saltmarsh, Vice President, Financial Education and Business Development, welcomed members as they signed onto the meeting and spoke briefly about NHFCU's Centers for Finance & Education, where we help make a difference through financial education and services, one member at a time.
At 5:30 PM, Board Chair, James P. Fredyma, called our online Annual Meeting to order. This year's meeting was dedicated to the memory of Gertrude "Gert" M. Murphy, who passed away in December. Gert served as a volunteer with NHFCU for more than 27 years on our Credit Committee.
Board Chair Fredyma took a few moments to thank the NHFCU staff for their dedication in the last year as they showed up for members every day at all NHFCU locations. He praised them for adapting to the internal changes and technological improvements implemented throughout the last year to better serve members during the ongoing pandemic.
Board Chair Fredyma also offered best wishes and thanks to retiring NHFCU volunteers, Julie Raposa, and Albert "Al" Irving, both of whom served the credit union for 8 years, respectively.
In addition to volunteer retirements, NHFCU President/CEO, John R. Young, was recognized for his 35 years of combined service and leadership to NHFCU as he prepares for retirement at year end 2021.
Thank you, John R. Young, Al Irving, and Julie Raposa, for your years of service and dedication to NHFCU.
Prize drawings were also part of the meeting, and members won items including Amazon Gift cards and a few technology devices including an Echo Show and Kindle Fire Tablet.
The following members were elected to serve on NHFCU's Board of Directors for three year terms: William F. Costa, Stephanie Milender, and Lori H. Real.
After the annual meeting, a separate election was held by the Board to appoint its officers. In 2021, NHFCU officers are: James P. Fredyma, Chair; Lori H. Real, Vice Chair; A. Allan Clark, Treasurer; and George C. Gendron, Jr., Secretary.
