Things Just Got a Little Better…Pass it on!
As you know, NH Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by our members, with a Board of Directors made up of volunteers responsible for assuring the vitality of the Credit Union for all of its members/owners.
ith that in mind, we are incredibly pleased to announce the latest step we are taking to make things better for our members.
Effective May 1, members age 65 and over and members age 25 and under will begin receiving a rebate each month for the monthly service charge on their checking (share draft) accounts. This rebate will be applied every month. This means there is effectively no monthly service charge for our checking accounts for members ages 65 and over and members ages 25 and under.
You may wonder why we would take such a step -- and the answer is easy. When it comes to our members 65 and over, we have seen firsthand the challenges retirees are facing with reduced incomes. For those members ages 25 and under who are just beginning to make their financial choices and decisions, this program gives them an opportunity to start saving as they start out. If they are students or are just entering the workforce, they often have reduced incomes or burdensome student debt. In addition, many organizations offer tempting "student" accounts for people 25 & under, without providing guidance or sensible money management education, something NHFCU offers through the Centers for Finance & Education at no cost.
These new rebates are part of NHFCU's efforts to build a stronger credit union, member by member.
For the last several years, NHFCU has worked to make a positive difference in the lives of members: freeing up cash flow and saving millions of dollars through thoughtful, holistic approaches to debt consolidations and home and auto refinancing. In just the first quarter of 2019, NHFCU members have saved more than half a million dollars through refinancing autos and consolidating debt! In addition, NHFCU has offered above market certificate rates and even 0% APR financing on autos. Along with free classes and one-on-one coaching at the Centers for Finance & Education, NHFCU is taking great strides to help all members.
